There are various common procedures that can be done by all dentists such as whitening of the teeth, however, there are those that somehow complicated and have to be performed by a specialist in that particular field. Below are some of the common types of cosmetic dentistry.

Dental Veneers
Ultra-thin porcelains that are directly bonded to the teeth are referred to as the dental veneers. Veneers are basically used to treat dental conditions such as the discolored teeth, cover spaces located in between the teeth, crooked tooth and even chipped teeth. They are made out of a super strong form of porcelain referred to as lithium disilicate which has the ability to last up to 2 decades if well taken care of. They always remain natural and beautiful, mainly because they do not rust or stain.

Teeth Whitening
This is the most popular type of cosmetic dentistry, which is done by almost all dentists. Even with the different methods to whiten your teeth at your door step, treatment by dentist remains the best recommendation. Teeth whitening can be done through laser whitening, where the gum is usually covered and the teeth are applied on bleaching chemical. After application of the chemical, argon laser light is projected to speed up the rate at which bleaching takes place. Compared to all the other methods of teeth whitening, laser lightening remains the best and most effective procedure.

Indirect Filling
Indirect filling, is also referred to as inlays and onlays which are made in the lab in a shape that perfectly matches your teeth. The inlays and onlays are basically used when there is no enough tooth capable of supporting the traditional filling, and if the patient has either mild or moderate tooth decay. For the inlays to be placed directly on top of the surface of the tooth, the cusps of the tooth should still be intact.in cases where a large portion of the tooth has been damaged, that are when the onlays are manipulated.

Bonding and Contouring
Bonding and contouring are good options in cases where you may be having one or two teeth with problem. Bonding is basically the application of composite resin on the tooth’s surface and shaping it, while contouring is shaping of the teeth that are larger than others resulting to uneven size of the teeth. This procedure has very little changes to the natural tooth.
